CLOSE TIES x GORKA: One-Off Dinner and late-night set at Hideout

Some things are better experienced together, and when it involves friends, exceptional food and outstanding talent, you know it’s going to be a treat. This August 15th, the team behind Close Ties - the moveable, anti-supper club invites you to treat yourself to a night at Hideout, the new canal-side extension of Number 90 in Hackney Wick.

Founded by sommelier Joshua Bratt (Carousel) and chef Jake Norman (Trullo), Close Ties has earned a reputation for gathering the best of the best from chefs to wine lovers and DJs, to deliver what is best described as a hybrid supper club, dinner party and underground music night.

Having already run successful evenings previously with chefs from across the country, past editions have included residents from Lupa, Mountain, Carousel, Sager + Wilde, Tiella, and FKABAM, along with a host of high profile DJs, the team aims to bring together a creative community who share their ethos of exceptional hospitality, so that you can bring together your friends to enjoy a night of great food, wine and music.

Gorka's George Husband & George Brown

This time, Joshua and Jake are teaming up with Gorka, the acclaimed duo George Husband and George Brown. Known for their unique approach to Basque-inspired dishes that fuse classical French haute cuisine with stripped-back Mediterranean styles (from regional Italian and Basque open-fire cooking), they have graced the kitchens of Chez Bruce, Brat, and Café Cecilia.

For this latest collaboration, expect an evening in two parts:

Dinner: Gorka will deliver a three-course dinner across trestle tables, starting with a welcome cocktail, followed by a choice of dishes that include sea bass carpaccio with plum, bay tagete, and sugar pit pork collar with smoked romesco, mole, and Mitsuba. All this savoury deliciousness will be followed by cold coconut rice pudding with white rum, mango, lime and apple. Menu options are available for the vegans and vegetarians in your party too.

Late Night Set: After the last bites are savoured, plates, tables and chairs cleared, the space once for dining, transforms into a platform for DJs and dancing. DJ and producer @alecfalconer, founder of label @badumtish.world will headline, joined by longstanding Close Ties residents  @megpaine, @sevenhillsrecords and Dan GT. Expect music to run into the night and to sound spot on on Hideout’s new 8-point D&B system. This is set to be a great one, and Gorka’s mantra ‘Unpredictable only, delicious always’ is a promising precursor
