WALLETTE WATSON

Scouted around 2016 by Eric Stern via Instagram and signed right after by Q Models Management in NYC. Wallette Watson have been walking since then for houses like Dior, Saint Laurent, Valentino or Coach, but when she feel completely blessed is when she is in front of the camera of people like Sorrenti, Meisel or McDean. She described herself as a funny, kind and brave but above everything, her biggest personal achievement is remaining herself inside the industry. Touché!

Where are you originally from and where are you based?

I am originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, and I have been based in New York for a little less than three years.

What are the peaks that you want to reach in your career as a model?

Covers, on Covers, on Covers!! A few peaks I want to reach, are Covers! (You get a cover! You Get a cover! ) Also I would like to do some kind of collaboration with a fashion brand that helps children in need. There are so many more peaks I want to reach, I’ve only just begun!

What is the most you like about the Industry? And what would you change about the industry?

One thing I really admire about the industry is how far it's come, It HAS come a long way, especially when it comes to diversity, different shapes, and sizes. It still has a long way to go, but better something that nothing.

One thing I would change about the industry would be the hairstylists. A majority of hairstylists that I have worked with have been clueless when It comes to Black hair. I think that hairstylists, before they come into this industry, should have to know about and know how to do well, all kinds of hair, not just white hair. I shouldn’t have to tell my hairstylist on set how to do my hair, and what not do. Not to be hard on all, because I have worked with a few who do know what they’re doing, and its refreshing.

MY BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT IS REMAINING MYSELF. IN THIS INDUSTRY A LOT OF PEOPLE LOSE THEMSELVES, BUT I HAVE A PRETTY HARDCORE TEAM OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME, WHO WOULD NOT LET THAT HAPPEN.
