Our latest Faces of Fashion goes from Oslo to Los Angeles, Mirakela Love Njie is a Norwegian-Gambian force represented by 3rd Management. Mirakela’s career began at tender age nine years old. At 23, she's a blend of persistence and femininity, she finds inspiration in philosophical literature and of designers like Mugler and Dior, while she dreams of a Victoria’s Secret campaign. Deeply influenced by her mother, she is a soulful talent who views fashion as a bold, rule-breaking platform for creativity and connection.

Where are you originally from and where are you based?
I'm born in Oslo, Norway. I'm half Norwegian and Gambian and currently based in Los Angeles.
When and how you were scouted? What has been your biggest achievement in the industry?
My mom signed me up in an agency when I was 9 years old. I quickly found a passion for fashion, being in front of a camera, and expressing myself in different ways; My biggest achievement so far has been landing 2 ELLE Norway Covers. I was so proud to show my mom and I'm also proud of my experiences and knowledge I've gained in this industry.
What would you like to achieve in your career as a model?
I would love to work with brands that I've always loved and looked up to. These are brands that embody femininity and creativity.
What do you like the most about the fashion industry? And what would you change?
I love how it is mostly a platform of art and creativity, there are not any rules, and you can be bold. I always love seeing the result of hard work. Being a model, you get to see places you would maybe never visit otherwise, and you meet people all over the world with the same interests as you. On the other side, I wish it would have the same structure as any other job when it comes to finances and rights.
Describe yourself in 5 words?
I would describe myself as sensitive, persistent, feminine, stubborn and my friends tell me I'm funny too! So I'll include that as well.
Who do you admire and why?
I admire my mom. She is really special, caring and hard working. I've never met anyone like her in terms of personality. You have some people you meet in life that you simply cannot forget, and I'm lucky to share my life with her.
Which one are your favourite movies and why?
'Prisoners,' 'Awakenings' and 'Pretty Woman'. The first time i watched 'Prisoners' it really shook me; 'Awakenings' was a movie that made me extremely emotional - I cried like a baby - and it's also based on a true story; 'Pretty Woman' is a classic and its a great love story with no judgments. I like movies that leave you an impact.
Which ones are your favourite books and authors?
'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle and 'The prophet' by Kahlil Gibran. These books moved me and I learned so much valuable information. I always love to read books that move me, and especially interesting when it's based on real life and deeper philosophy.
If you would choose one brand for your next campaign - which one would it be?
There are many brands I would love to work with, so this one is really hard! For my next campaign a dream it would be Victoria Secret! It has always been so sexy and refreshing, and of course, iconic.
Who are your favourite designers - present and past?
Present and past it still the same, that’s how great they are. I'm a big fan of John Galliano, Jean Paul Gautier, Schiaparelli, Thierry Mugler, Christian Dior, and Versace.
What they all have in common is how they embody femininity in their own way, with a strong identity.
If you could choose 3 people to have dinner with - which ones would be and why?
Robert De Niro, because he is a legend. I grew up watching his movies.
Eckhart Tolle, because I feel like I could learn so much from him.
And the last one i have to keep a secret cause it is my crush!
