Demy de Vries is a creative butterfly whose first steps on the runway were no joke. Launched into a modelling career as a Prada exclusive, she’s flourished ever since. Dior, Giambattista Valli, Valentino, Bottega Veneta, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, and John Galliano, all in her very first season, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Her angelical features highlighted the pages of i-D magazine, Numéro and V Magazine. Added to that list are the pages of our own latest issue, and that means that we had a chance of getting to know her a little bit better. This luminescent beauty grew up near the Dutch beach and dreams of taking it someplace hotter. Her perfect photoshoot? I think something on a beautiful tropical island.. Can we join her, please?

You are someone whose career skyrocketed in your first season, what was that like?
It was an amazing experience. And when I came home after Fashion month and looked back, I really realized what I had done and how grateful I should be. And I still am.
So far, what would you consider to be the highlight of your career?
My Prada exclusive.
Where’s the most amazing place you have shot?
It was at Clinique La Prairie in Montreux, Switzerland. It was my first time in Switzerland, and I thought the landscapes and nature there were so beautiful.
If you could invent your own dream job, what would it be?
I think something on a beautiful tropical island or for a gorgeous beauty campaign.
What impact would you like to have on the fashion industry as a model?
To reinforce the importance of being nice to everyone and treating everyone with respect.
What do you do when you are not working?
When I am not working, I try to go at home and catch up with family and friends. I also love to be creative, so I spend my days drawing and painting.
Can you describe your perfect weekend?
My perfect weekend is being at home and going to the beach. Then catching up with family and friends.
What are you proud of?
I am grateful for all the things I do and have done. And that I will always be true to myself.
What playlist did you last listen to?
My 80’s playlist.
What is your favourite workout?
I really love to run. At home I live near by the beach and the dunes, so I love to run in nature. I also love Pilates.
