Alyson Dubey loves big cities; hailing from Vancouver, she loves to compare the contrasts between her hometown and the ones she’s new to. Still, it was her childhood in nature that left an indelible mark on her. Warm memories of an ‘outdoorsy’ life with an ‘outdoorsy’ family have given her a deep respect for the planet. From an environmental lens to life in front of the camera, Alyson navigates seamlessly between the two.

Since her initial signing, she has also worked with international agencies worldwide, aspiring to emulate the incredible energy the ’90s supers brought. “Their beauty felt raw, effortless, and iconic, yet still so simple. I especially admire how involved they were in their communities, such as the “Seventh on Sale” benefit. They carried themselves with such humanity and purpose, which made their impact even more powerful,” Alyson explains. But this model is multifaceted; she’s just as intrigued by history and who was the lord of the manor as by the narrative of The Lord of the Rings. “There isn’t just one period that interests me. I think that’s why London feels so special to me. I’ll be heading to a casting, and the building it’s in turns out to have been a bakery in 1786 or something equally wild.” Alyson enjoys examining the parallels between fiction and reality, skilfully navigating exactly that through modelling.

Alyson demonstrates this compelling combination of professionalism, curiosity and deep respect when she talks about her recent collaboration on set in Marrakesh, where her mother’s presence was about more than support; it was about shared experience. “ For this trip, I asked if my mum could come along, and they were more than happy to have her. The team is genuinely one of my favourites to work with, and the shots turned out amazing. Whenever I’m on set with them, the vibe is always the best. Traveling to such an amazing city with such a wonderful team is unbeatable. It truly feels like a big family, and I’m always so grateful to work with them.” Undoubtedly, it’s those ‘outdoorsy’ days in nature that helped to shape the deeply rooted relationship between Alyson and her mother, one that grounds her, helps her see family in the teams she works with, and that clearly shines through in all that she achieves.
