LEAH RÖDL

German-American model, Leah Rödl, grew up between Berlin and Luxembourg and moved into the fashion industry right after High School. Since then, she has been traveling without a proper home, floating between Paris, London or New York. Her career with more than 120 runways include Valentino, Gucci, Balmain, Alexander McQueen to just mention a few of the highlights.

What do you like the most of the industry?

I love the diversity in the industry. By this I don’t just mean the increasing mixing of skin colors, but the diversity in characters. There isn’t any other industry where open mindedness and acceptance of all traits and personalities is as normal and necessary as in fashion. And of course as before mentioned the traveling.

What are the goals you want to reach in your career as a model? Who do you admire?

I mainly want to travel and meet people with different mind sets. Of course, working for fashion houses such as Valentino, Maison Martin Margiela and Balmain is an absolute honor and highlights of my career, although trips to Norway's fjords, Southern Spanish coast and Florence, Italy are just as valuable to me. In my future I would love to work more intensely with some of the haute couture artists of this world. These people are fascinating, they produce living art, or rather, walking art. Some of my favorites are Iris van Herpen and John Galliano. Also, I would love to travel and see more of the world. I’m already taking matters into my own hand by going to work in Tokyo in summer!

In 5 words, how would you describe yourself?

Open, diligent, organized but lost, caring.
